ROMED2: National Launching Meeting and Workshop, Kiev, Ukraine, 20-21 May 2014
Between 20th and 21st of May 2014, ROMED2 was officially launched in Kiev (Ukraine), with the presence of representatives from various ministries, local and regional administrations, Roma NGOs, Roma mediators, and the facilitators of the Community Action Groups from the five selected municipalities/regions that joined the programme: Odessa, Uzhgorod, Kirovograd, Kiev, and Pereyalslav-Khmlenytskyi.
The event, organised by the Council of Europe in partnership with the International Charitable Organisation Roma Women Fund “Chiricli” (National Project Officer of the programme in Ukraine) and the Ministry of Social Policy was also a good occasion for dialogue between the Government, the regions and Roma stakeholders on the challenges in the implementation of the National Strategy for Roma Inclusion.
The event was followed by the first National workshop of the programme that introduced the curriculum and prepared the calendar of implementation of the ROMED2 programme in the five municipalities.
