From the 10th to the 11th of March 2016, the National Support Teams of the ROMED2 Programme are meeting in the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg for a meeting which has an important symbolic significance.
With mediators trained in ROMED1, the ROMED2 programme supports Roma citizens to organise into “Community Action Groups” (CAG) in the municipalities of implementation, and provides assistance for sustainable dialogue between these action groups and local authorities.
The main topics of discussion during the two-days meeting will concern the sustainability of Community Action Groups beyond 2016 as well as the continuity of the processes of participation launched at local level in close to 70 municipalities.
Moreover, following the beginning of the evaluation phase, a team of external evaluators recently selected through a call for tenders will also attend the meeting and begin the cycle of interviews for the purpose of the evaluation.
The final report of the evaluation of the ROMED Programme is scheduled for publication in July 2016.
Prior to the NPO/NFP Meeting on the 10th-11th, Ms Zemfira Kondur, National Project Officer for ROMED2 in Ukraine will also meet with Ms Nawel Rafik-Elmrini, deputy mayor of Strasbourg in charge of European and international affairs, on the subject of the cooperation initiated between the city of Strasbourg and the Darnitsa administration of Kiev on the topic of Roma integration.
